5.0.70.4 posted 3-18-09
On March 18, we posted a new beta version of RPM Elite, 5.0.70.4. It has all the same fixes and enhancements as the same version of RPM Select. Read more about it on the RPM roadmap page.
As some of you know, the biggest reason for RPM to continue as a beta is that it does not yet include the web interface, known as the Remote Print Administrator (RPA). The next beta version will have a mostly working version of the RPA. RPM now has an integrated HTTP server, so it will in no way require or use Microsoft IIS. It, like the product itself, will not resemble version 4.5 in any way. You’ll be able to configure HTTP listening ports in the same location as other ports: the General Settings, and in fact you can now.
For those eagerly awaiting the RPA, please be prepared to test the next beta version for your needs. We intend a short period of testing the RPA before removing the beta status and releasing RPM Elite as a fully-tested and supported product to replace RPM Elite 4.5.
