Dial-up Networking starts

Problem:

Every time a print job is created in INTELLIscribe®, "Dial-Up Networking" in Windows comes up and dials my ISP.

Answer:

INTELLIscribe does make use of the TCP/IP protocol, so if your network settings are such that TCP/IP binds only to both a dial-up adapter and a Network adapter, then this will happen.

This problem can be resolved by using the Internet Options from the control panel. Follow these instructions:

  1. Choose Start\Settings\Control Panel. Double-click "Internet Options".
  2. Go to the "Connections" tab.
  3. Choose "Never dial a connection".
  4. Press "Apply" and then "OK".

This will not cause any problems other than when you want your computer to dial the Internet, you will have to do it manually from the "Dial-up Networking" folder.
