My first job printed, but all others are stuck in Xfer

Question:

The first job I sent to through RPM Remote Print Manager™ printed fine, but all other jobs are stuck in Xfer state.

Answer:

Many mainframes do not send a LF at the end of the print job. It may appear to be printing the first job OK, but it is still stuck. In other words, RPM is waiting for a LF so it can finish the first job. To correct this problem, you need to append a LF in the Print Data Options. Follow these steps:

  1. In the Queues menu, select Edit Queues.
  2. In the Edit Queues dialog, press "Print Data Options"
  3. Go to the Append tab, select Append bytes and press Edit Bytes.
  4. In the Edit Bytes, press the LF button.
  5. Apply\OK\OK
