RPM is not receiving on my Windows 9x System

Problem:

RPM Remote Print Manager® is not receiving print requests on my Win 9x system.

Resolution:

Verify the host system references the correct IP address of your Win 9x system (Start Run WINIPCFG) and proper queue name.

If these are correct, verify the following settings in RPM:

  1. Select Options, Host Access. Verify that Enable Host Access Checking is not set under the host rules or IP Rules Tab.
  2. Select Relax Port and Range at Options/LPD Security
  3. Select Options, Log and Select the first 6 boxes
  4. Then try the Local Telnet Session {e.g. Telnet (space) IP address (space) 515}. The RPM log should reflect "Information: Request from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx."
  5. If RPM is still not receiving, call the system administrator because there is a networking problem or a Windows 9x problem. (example: for instance Windows Sockets are not installed, or TCP/IP is not installed correctly).
