Bold is not printing in my text queue

Problem:

RPM Remote Print Manager® does not print bold from when I have a text queue selected.

Answer:

The most common reasons for this behavior are...

  1. There is no bolding in the document. RPM understands only two ways to print bold: using backspace (0x08) or a carriage return (0x0D) without a line feed. We suggest opening the data file in a hexadecimal editor looking for these two characters. To get access to the data file, click here.
  2. At this time, RPM does not interpret bold printing when the incoming data is in PCL format. RPM removes the PCL formatting instructions, since bold printing is performed by a PCL sequence, it is not handled by RPM. Future versions of RPM will support bold printing when the incoming data is PCL.
