My programs no longer start automatically
Problem:
When INTELLIscribe 1.6 is uninstalled, some programs no longer start automatically when the computer boots up. Is this issue related to INTELLIscribe or something else?
Solution:
Yes, the uninstallation of INTELLIscribe removes a registry key where it should not. It was actually caused by InstallShield, but has been fixed in the latest release of INTELLIscribe. If you need to remove INTELLIscribe 1.6, please follow these steps:
Warning: Using the "registry editor" improperly can cause serious problems that may make your computer unbootable. If you are uncomfortable editing the registry, contact an IT professional. We cannot be responsible for problems caused by using the "Registry Editor" improperly.
On Windows 9x platforms:
- From the "Start" menu, choose "Run". Type 'regedit' and press "OK".
- Open HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion registry key.
- Rename the "Run" subkey to "Disabled-Run".
- Now, uninstall INTELLIscribe:
- Press "Start", Settings, "Control Panel". Double-click "Add/Remove Programs".
- Highlight "INTELLIscribe" and press "Add/Remove".
- Once INTELLIscribe 1.6 is removed, rename the "Disabled-Run" key back to "Run".
This problem has been resolved in the newest version of INTELLIscribe.
