Question:
I'm trying to install RPM for Windows NT Server version on a Windows NT Terminal Server. It doesn't seem to be working properly. Does RPM run on a Windows NT Terminal Server, and what needs to happen with configuration, etc.?
Answer:
We have clients right now running RPM/NT on a Terminal Server. This can be done, however, you must do all installation and configuration directly at the "console". You cannot install or configure it at any of the client machines (terminals).
Configuration for queues and other things also can only be done at the console. There is currently not any remote configuration capabilities built in to RPM, so to configure RPM at a client machine requires additional software such as VNC or PC Anywhere. Brooks Internet Software does not recommend either of these programs, but they are an option at this point. Remote configuration is difficult but we are currently working on it. Check back with us occasionally for future releases of RPM that may contain utilities for remote configuration built-in to RPM.
Note: Please keep your Brooks WorldWide Support current and up-to-date because if not, there would be an upgrade fee involved for receiving updates with these capabilites and more...
