RPM event 232: Incorrect Function

Question:

I am running RPM on my Windows NT workstation. RPM is configured to save the incoming data files to a directory on my Windows NT Server. The RPM service is configured to "Log on" as a local user account. The domain user and the local user are identical. The queue is being suspended, and in the log, I receive the following message:

Event 232: Error opening file xxxx 0x1: Incorrect Function

Answer:

This problem is not common, but here is one possible solution. If you have a different password for the local system account as for the domain user, you can receive this message. To fix the problem, the passwords must be the same. Change the passwords of the users to have the same password. The best solution is to have the RPM service "Log on" as a domain user, not a user of the local machine. Click here for instructions.
