To configure a Macintosh computer to print through RPM, the Mac must be configured to print using the LPR protocol. Here is a list of requirements:
For these instructions, assume that the IP address of the RPM host is 192.168.1.35. Your system administrator has information about your RPM host computer.
Configuring the Macintosh LPR
The first step is to configure the IP Address of the Macintosh PC. The Macintosh stores TCP/IP information in the TCP/IP Control Panel. If networking is already configured, it does not need to be done again. Once TCP/IP is configured on the Mac, a printer can now be configured to print through RPM.
- Launch the Desktop Utility. By default, this utility is located in the Apple Extras folder at the root level of the hard disk drive.

- Select the "Printer LPR" option and click OK. You may be able to choose a different print driver at this point.

- By default, the PPD file shows "Generic" as the type. Press the "Change
" button to modify the "Postscript Printer Description" (PPD) file. Select the printer type to match the actual destination printer.

- Press "Change" under the "Internet Printer" section.

- Enter the IP Address of the RPM host and the name of a queue in RPM you have configured. Click "Verify" to be sure a connection is made to RPM and then click OK.

- From the "File" menu, choose "Save".
- Enter the name for the printer and location to save the icon to, and press OK. The default name is the RPM host's IP Address and the destination is the desktop, but this information can be modified.
- If you require changing the page orientation, tray to print from, etc., you need to modify the printer options manually. To set the options, highlight the printer icon and select "Change Setup" from the "Printing" menu.

Congratulation, your Macintosh computer can now send print jobs to RPM!
