Using Brooks' software to complement third-party solutions, many organizations are discovering enhanced, simplified, and cost-reducing document workflows. For example, RPM Remote Print Manager™ is able to receive print jobs from applications on any host system, then save the documents to disk for further processing or parsing by third-party software.

• Forms design, report formatting, electronic distribution, printing, PDF conversion

OctoTools is a document management tool that runs automatically to provide high volume throughput without operator involvement. OctoTools is composed of two main modules: OctoTools RTE (Run Time Engine), supporting input, processing, conversion and output; and OctoDesigner, providing forms design and report formatting. RPM  used to receive print jobs from host systems and pass the documents to OctoTools for further processing.

udkServe by IHS Systems

• Xerox XES command conversion to PCL

IHS Systems uses RPM to receive print jobs from mainframes over TCP/IP. RPM then saves the jobs to disk and IHS's udkServer software picks up the job data and udkServer converts the XES print commands to PCL. udkServe then calls INTELLIscribe using the ISendfile command line interface. ISendfile submits the converted print jobs to a virtual printer port via the MS-DOS prompt or command.

• E-business enabler and trading partner document exchange

RPM Remote Print Manager is used to intercept and redirect incoming print jobs (purchase orders, invoices, and so on) from the host system (Mainframe, AS/400, or others). Abrica then converts the document into PDF and XML and delivers the information to the partner's system. On the receiving end, this information can be imported into the ERP or other system.
