Local Software Firm Honors 9/11

Brooks Internet Software, Inc's Staff Volunteers to Work at Local Home in Honor of 9/11

Idaho Falls, ID - September 9, 2002 - Brooks Internet Software, Inc. (Brooks) will close business operations on September 11, 2002, and volunteer time at a local home in honor of the one year anniversary of the Attack on America. All eleven employees will forgo the daily software grind and submit to physical labor at The Shepherd's Inn, a local home for young pregnant women.

Brooks did not have to look far to find a local organization in need of volunteer work. Having once been a start-up company, Brooks' found The Shepherd's Inn, a fairly new organization itself, a perfect place to volunteer time and services. Brooks' staff will be engaging in general cleaning, interior painting, sorting of donated items and setting up the home's office computer system. Individual staff members are assigned to a project crew to concentrate on completing the various tasks at this start-up maternity home.

"The entire staff has rallied behind the decision to do something positive to not only honor the memory of the individuals lost in the 9/11 attacks but all Americans that have fallen as a result of terrorist activities," said Dave Brooks, president of Brooks Internet Software, Inc. "We thank The Shepherd's Inn for accepting our offer to step outside our office walls for a day to learn more about each other while providing community service in honor of our country."

The Shepherd's Inn has been housing young pregnant women for almost three years. During this time, volunteers have continued to renovate the 8,000-square-foot facility. The Shepherd's Inn staff and board have received training on how to design and build programs to help support young women while in the home and to strengthen their life skills for a brighter future when they leave the home. The organization relies on grants and donations to provide this unique service.

"As with any growing organization we welcome the time and services of those in our community," said Julie Zahn, The Shepherd's Inn Executive Director. "We are grateful for the time Brooks' staff is spending to help us complete our many tasks in honor of a day that will forever remind us of all Americans who have lost their lives to terrorism."
