RPM Remote Print Manager® 4.5 Raises the Standard

Added Print Control and Remote Administration Features
Raise the Standard for TCP/IP Print Management Software

Idaho Falls, ID. - August 14, 2002 - Brooks Internet Software, Inc., a leader in remote printing software, announces the latest release of RPM Remote Print Manager® (RPM) Windows 2000/NT/XP products: RPM Elite and RPM Select. RPM 4.5 includes a new web user interface (RPM Elite only), a new license manager, an updated user interface and a number of core improvements to the print server software.

With printing standards and expectations constantly rising, RPM 4.5 was built to include both new and enhanced features so that users now have a customizable software print server to print from an array of host environments. Brooks' technical staff conscientiously incorporated months of customer ideas, requests, and industry research into the new release.

"Our customers are loyal by nature. From their initial contact they discover RPM Remote Print Manager software can resolve printing issues they were not even aware they had," said Dave Brooks, president of Brooks Internet Software. "We have listened to our customers, learned what features we could add to make a better product and built this latest release accordingly. This truly is a customer-driven release."

RPM 4.5 Features and Enhancements

Remote Print Administrator

RPM Remote Print Manager's web browser interface was designed to provide administrators the ability to remotely manage software configuration and job processing on the RPM Elite product.

User Interface

Users and administrators can now view and configure the RPM Remote Print Manager software through a modern interface that provides advanced sorting and management of print queues and print jobs.

Core

The RPM Line Printer Daemon (LPD) has added banner page support for all queue types, improved file handling, updated default settings, and allows insertion of bytes or files before or after the banner page.
