5.0.0.49 on 2026-10-23
The first release of ExcelliPrint 5.0 — a new program, rebuilt from the ground up. See what’s new in 5.0 and how it compares with 4.0.
- A Windows program in place of the web interface: queues, jobs and the log in one window, with no web server, browser login or SSL certificate to secure
- One drawing engine for every format — PDF, TIFF, PostScript, PCL6 and printed output — so a job looks the same whether it is saved or printed, and a PDF shows exactly what the printer will produce
- Searchable PDF and PDF/A-2b for archiving, with optional passwords and permissions
- PostScript level 2 or 3, PCL6 (PCL XL), and multi-page TIFF at 72 to 600 dpi in color, grayscale or black and white
- Windows Driver output through any printer’s own driver, following the host’s paper trays, output bins, duplex and copies
- Send PostScript or PCL6 straight to a printer that understands it, with tray and output-bin mapping and an optional PJL header naming the job and user
- Email each job as an attachment, with the sender, recipient, subject and message drawn from the job’s details
- Name files, print jobs and attachments from a template of the job’s details: job name, user, spooled file, form and more
- Font mapping — choose the TrueType font for each IPDS typeface; OCR-A, OCR-B and a Letter Gothic font are included
- More secure: each queue accepts jobs only from the hosts you list, only Windows administrators change settings, the service runs under its own account instead of LocalSystem, and stored passwords are protected by Windows
- More robust: every job ends completed or failed, never half-delivered, with the reason in the log; a queue that stops is restarted while the others carry on
- Stored credentials for reaching shared folders and printers on other computers, with passwords protected by Windows
- Database backup and restore, and diagnostics without a restart
- IPDS Printer passthrough for troubleshooting: forward a host’s connection to a real IPDS printer and capture both sides of the conversation
- 64-bit Windows only. No longer offered: the Standard edition, and PCL5, JPEG, GIF, PNG and text output, iSeries device management, and margins and watermarks
