Convert your host files to PDF, send email, print and more
RPM Remote Print Manager® (RPM) is print server software for Windows platforms. It makes full use of your Windows system and has many capabilities beyond traditional printing--though we support that as well.
Easy host printing
RPM is ready to go with the LPD print protocol; nothing to turn on. You set up the print client on your mainframe, AS/400 or Unix/Linux system to print to the Windows computer running RPM. RPM will automatically create the queue you specified on your host, and keep it suspended until you can set up the RPM queue with the processing options you want.
If you are using port 9100 and above, it's simple to configure those ports in RPM as well. Simply associate the port with an RPM print queue and you're ready to go.
RPM can translate most print jobs into PDF. Pretty much any format we can interpret, we can convert to PDF--and we do it internally, not through a free Windows driver.
The Elite version of our software can also translate PCL print jobs to PDF as well as image formats and PostScript.
Archiving to disk is a snap with RPM:
- select the folder to save the print job in
- select file naming options, including job data, date and time
- unique filenames are the default
if you are archiving to a network share, RPM can save the login credentials needed for that operation. No need to change the services user account.
RPM can also send a print job as the body of an email, or as an attachment.
Text print works best as the email body. Any print job can be used as an attachment. PDF attachments are commonly used for this purpose.
