Note:
The Internet RFC proposals document the various Internet protocols, specifically how they are supposed to work. In many cases, one RFC will make a "proposal" for a certain standard, only to have this updated in a later standard and the original proposal deprecated. For instance, there was an IPP version 1.0, but eventually there was a 1.1, which superseded the earlier document.
This link will take you to the Internet standard document for LPD printing:
This document is not easy to read (although I personally don't complain). I have seen many client implementations send print requests to RPM, and let me just say, some are "creative" in how they interpret this document.
In RPM Remote Print Manager®, I have tried to accommodate each one. That's why I include the degree of diagnostic logging I do, as well as the "capture" feature. Please note that this captures the dialog between the sending and the receiving side. The content of your data is not included.

I had a hover link on this page, but just today discovered that only 8 pages' worth of text were included. Apparently, there is a limit to how much text you can hide in HTML.
